Paul Edwards is an artist working out of his studio in Cardiff. His paintings and drawings have been exhibited in Washington, D.C., Philadelphia, London and Ireland, including a one-person show in Exhibit E, a series of exhibitions held at eleven galleries in Washington, D.C., sponsored by the European Commission and the British Council.

Recently he has curated and taken part in the first of a number of drawing experiments, “Translations,” at the University of Lincoln; his work also appeared in “Pebbles and Avalanches,” an exhibition that explores the artistic relationships that exist between teachers and students. He has exhibited work from residencies in response to considerations of place in “All Over the Place” in The Stanley and Audrey Burton Gallery, University of Leeds, and the University of the West of England, Bristol. He has also exhibited at the Royal Academy Summer Show and the Eisteddfod.

This year Edwards made a number of drawings in response to Rhian Edwards’ Brood, published by Seren. He is co-curator of ‘Imagistic’ an ongoing project – started in 2012 - where writers respond to visual images to produce new work. We have staged imagistic events in Chapter Arts Centre - Millennium Centre - Spacializing Illustration conference, St David’s University, Swansea - AWP Conference Minneapolis and Hillyer Arts Space, Washington D.C.  These events combine a reading with projected images and films.

He has had residencies in England, the U.S., Ireland and Germany and been awarded grants by the European Union, British Council, Arts Council and Elizabeth Greenshields Foundation.

Work is included in the collections of Glyn Vivian Gallery, Mannheim Kunsthalle, Regierungsprasidium State of Baden Wurtemburg, University of Lincoln, Bishop Grosseteste University and private collections in America and the UK.

A graduate of the Slade, he is a member of the Welsh Group.
